If you are passionate about the care, wellbeing and leisure pursuits of school age children this is the qualification for you!

If you are passionate about the leading high quality outside of school hours education and care services, this is the qualification for you!

The Diploma of School Age Education and Care will assist you to expand your knowledge of middle childhood development, support the planning and implementation of engaging play and leisure experiences and support your leadership capabilities within holiday programs and before & after school settings.

If you hold a CHC50113 Diploma in Early Childhood (or equivalent) qualification, credit transfer may apply, significantly reducing course duration and study load.

The Diploma of School Age Education and Care is available in 2020 via traineeship, through day classes or mixed mode delivery at Berwick, Dandenong, Frankston, Mornington Peninsula and Bass Coast campuses. Location and mode availability is subject to course demand.

The course requires a minimum 240 hour placement component which is undertaken in any before school, after school or holiday care setting with children aged five – 12 years of age.
Chisholm can assist in organising work placement.

If you are currently working or volunteering within an educational service, this setting could be used to achieve placement requirements. Please note that a Working with Children Check and (in some instances) a National Police Certificate is a requirement before placement commencement.

Participants will be required to engage with learning material online and via video conferencing software rather than attend classes. Refer to our COVID-19 Online Service Standards for details of minimum technical requirements and support available.
