Are you interested in a rewarding career working within the mental health industry?

The Diploma of Mental Health will give you the skills and knowledge to provide counselling, referral, advocacy and health promotion services to clients in need. You will learn about the laws that affect people with mental health issues, the range of services available to them and health issues related to mental health. This qualification could lead to employment as a social welfare worker, or mental health practitioner.
You will be required to complete a total of 400 hours of industry placement over the course of your studies. If you have already completed relevant work placement while studying the Certificate IV in Mental Health or are already working in the industry, you may be eligible for some credit hours or to complete your placement assessment in your workplace.

Students are required to produce a valid Working with Children Check and a satisfactory police check prior to commencement of the course

Full Time - 15 months (2 modules per study period). Part Time - 2 years (1 module per study period). Note: Modules 8,9 and 10 need to be completed together in one study period.

Chisholm courses are subject to minimum and maximum group numbers. Courses may be cancelled or postponed if minimum numbers are not achieved by the start date of the course. Courses may close prior to the start date if the maximum numbers are reached. In that situation, eligible applicants will be offered a place in the next available intake.
