Upskill with Manufacturing Microcredentials free of charge!
Chisholm are offering microcredentials in Manufacturing and Automated Production Systems that have been designed to support our industry partners and the South East of Melbourne. These microcredentials are being delivered by Chisholm free of charge and will provide graduates the ability to increase industry production, bring future skills back to the workplace, and boost career opportunities.
Students will receive a Chisholm certificate of completion of the microcredential, and a digital badge.
What you'll learn
MC102 - Professional Certificate of Competency in Industrial Production Process and Management
• This micro-credential examines the theoretical and practical skills required to work in the field of manufacturing.
• Students explore various state-of-the-art manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing processes (3D printing), subtractive manufacturing processes(CNC machining and Laser cutting) and material fabrication while gaining expertise in quality management principles and tools to enhance organisational performance. With a focus on Industry 4.0 and modern production trends, the course delves into operations research techniques for decision-making, how to implement a Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS), the concepts of Lean manufacturing, and sustainability through Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
• The micro credential covers three broad areas, manufacturing processes, industrial production systems and quality management and operations research. Students are required to attend in person (intensive) workshops as well as complete online activities using simulation software.
Learning outcomes
A: Analyse and execute various manufacturing processes to fabricate components.
B: Critically evaluate quality management principles to enhance production and operational efficiency.
C: Develop and optimise production systems using advanced methodologies.
D: Conduct life cycle assessments and sustainability evaluations for manufacturing processes and systems.
E: Articulate technical solutions and strategies using appropriate communication, analytical tools, and collaborative practices.
How you'll learn
• Face-to-face on campus, in smaller classes, for more one-on-one time and support from teachers.
• In state-of-the-art facilities such as the structural mechanics lab, programmable logic controller (PLC) lab, pneumatic and hydraulic lab, robotics lab, digital electronics lab, instrumentation lab and automation simulation lab.
• Through ongoing feedback and support.
• With student services and student support.
