This nationally recognised qualification is highly valued by employers and may lead to work as a trainer or assessor at a registered training organisation or in a workplace context.
Experienced TAFE teachers will guide you through the course content which includes creating a delivery plan and learning program, developing session plans, creating learning aids and planning, conducting and evaluating assessments. You will also gain practical experience in delivering group training sessions.
Students entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
You’ll study flexibly in our supportive online learning environment with weekly webinars and seven-day student support. Each module runs for 10 weeks, except for module 4 which runs for 15 weeks. -

Admission requirements
Applicants must be 18 years or over, Applicants must demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching/assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge/experience, and may include, but not limited to, holding relevant unit of competency or qualification, Basic proficiency skills with software (Microsoft Office or similar) are essential to complete activities in class, and assessments. Applicants should self-assess these computer skills prior to enrolling., Completion of BKSB assessment with an outcome of ACSF 4 – Reading, and ACSF 2 - Numeracy or be able to demonstrate equivalence to these by producing certified copies of qualifications issued at a Certificate IV or higher level.

Annual scholarships may be available to eligible students suffering financial hardship through the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation. Find our more about the scholarships, which to date have supported more than 150 students with grants ranging from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, depending on circumstance and the area of study.

Chisholm courses are subject to minimum and maximum group numbers. Courses may be cancelled or postponed if minimum numbers are not achieved by the start date of the course. Courses may close prior to the start date if the maximum numbers are reached. In that situation, eligible applicants will be offered a place in the next available intake.
