When you complete the two popular courses as part of the dual qualification: Certificate IV in Design/Certificate IV in Visual Arts you’ll have a strong understanding of technical and conceptual art and design, including visual problem solving. By utilising units from both courses it will create a more holistic approach. The skills learned develop the direction of your learning journey. By multi skilling you are building experience that will give you a competitive edge with employment opportunities and the ability to greater inform your visual art and design training.

Within design you’ll take design concepts through to finished art stage according to industry standards and learn practical skills in areas such as creative thinking, design solutions, interpretation of design briefs, photo imaging and typography.

Visual Arts is the first step to expand a student’s understanding of art theory, materials and arts practice. This course is suitable for both Fine Arts and Illustration students and extends the student's awareness of self-expression, creativity, drawing, 2D studies, 3D studies, digital media, visual language and industry.

This one year foundation course gives students a broad experience of art within the studio, workshops, visiting artist programs and facilitates each student’s understanding of their future direction in the creative industries. Students may also enrol into the Certificate IV Design and the Certificate IV in Visual Arts separately.
