When you successfully complete the Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade, you’ll have the skills required to work in the metals and engineering industry. During this course, you’ll learn about mechanical and thermal cutting, marking out, welding principles, fabrication, forming and shaping techniques, general machining, computing and computer-aided drafting, and workplace safety.

INHERENT REQUIREMENTS
Entry requirements for literacy and numeracy range from levels one to two.
Applicants must be able to communicate in a professional setting using the English language.
Applicants must be physically fit and able to work within an engineering workshop, in specific, be able to lift and move heavy items, use power tools and handheld tools.
Experienced teachers, who are experts in the field, will guide you through the program, which involves a combination of theory and practice. This nationally recognised qualification may lead to employment as a sheet metal tradesperson, structural steel tradesperson, technical salesperson or welder.

Admission requirements
Apprentices must have a Registered Training Agreement with their employer, It is recommended school leaver students complete the pre-apprenticeship pathway (Certificate II) prior to enrolling, or complete a pre-training assessment for literacy and numeracy of BKSB assessment with an outcome of ACSF exit level 2, working level 3

Chisholm courses are subject to minimum and maximum group numbers. Courses may be cancelled or postponed if minimum numbers are not achieved by the start date of the course. Courses may close prior to the start date if the maximum numbers are reached. In that situation, eligible applicants will be offered a place in the next available intake.
