Graphic designers require a range of specialist technical and design skills related to core design language, composition, typography, and layout design. In addition, they need good teamwork and people skills and be able to work to deadlines, be reliable and have advanced communication, organisational and project management skills.

Employment as a graphic designer requires individuals who have highly specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills in visual communication to conceive, negotiate and realise design outcomes.

Chisholm graduates build these skills and successfully find employment in many different commercial contexts across both print and digital media opportunities. Their work may include such areas as branding, packaging signage (vinyl wrapping), advertising art direction, corporate identity, web design and motion graphics.
