Understand the hazards associated with working at heights
This one-day course is targeted at individuals whose roles include working safely at heights where there is a risk of injury from falling from heights.
This will typically include but not limited to workers such as plumbers, electricians, builders, construction workers, water industry operators, contract scaffold installers and solar panels/hot water systems installers.
The course will ensure learners have an understanding of the hazards associated with working at heights and appropriate control measures to address those hazards.
The course will also cover the safe use of equipment such as harnesses and lanyards to prevent falls in industries like construction as highlighted in the falls from heights statistics below:
20: Fatalities in the construction industry were caused by a fall from height. *

39.3%: Fall from a height injuries in the construction industry are from a ladder. **
20-29 years: The most affected age group in construction for injuries from falls. **

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following unit: RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights
