Specialise in the field of sport and recreation and inspire others to get active and learn new skills

When you complete this combined sport (development and coaching ) and sport and recreation management course, you’ll be ready to work in the sport and recreation industry or continue into a range of degree studies. The course has two streams - one for students interested in a generic sport and recreation program to help them identify and prepare for a range of roles within the industry. The second stream is linked to Chisholm's Sports Academy which assists aspiring athletes to reach their full potential in sport and study while providing them the skills and knowledge to gain employment in the sports industry.

During the course, you’ll learn about sports psychology, sports science, sport and recreation program development, group facilitation, event management, sports management, project management, coaching, talent identification and selection, sports technology and developing training programs.

Some students may be eligible for a discount on the Diploma of Sports (Development and Coaching) tuition fees. Speak to us to find out more.

Please note that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing requirements, to continue your learning journey, this program will be delivered remotely where possible.

Participants will be required to engage with theoretical components of the course online and via video conferencing software rather than attend classes. Refer to our COVID-19 Online Service Standards for details of minimum technical requirements and support available.

Practical skills training and assessment will be carried out in scheduled small classes to meet social distancing requirements. As there is a strong industry component to the course including practical placement opportunities, expected completion dates for the course may need to be extended to take account of industry availability.

If you have any queries about course requirements, please contact our student information centre on 1300 244 746 or enquiries@chisholm.edu.au.
