Are you interested in a rewarding career working within the mental health industry?
The Diploma of Mental Health will give you the skills and knowledge to provide counselling, referral, advocacy and health promotion services to clients in need. You will learn about the laws that affect people with mental health issues, the range of services available to them and health issues related to mental health. This qualification could lead to employment as a social welfare worker, or mental health practitioner.
You will be required to complete a total of 400 hours of industry placement over the course of your studies. If you have already completed relevant work placement while studying the Certificate IV in Mental Health or are already working in the industry, you may be eligible for some credit hours or to complete your placement assessment in your workplace.
Students are required to produce a valid Working with Children Check and a satisfactory police check prior to commencement of the course
Please note: Applications received after 20 September, 2020 will be considered for Study Period 1 which commences on 25 January, 2021.
Enrolments for study period 1 commences on 23 November, 2020.

Admission requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of course commencement. Admission requirements are completion of BKSB assessment with an outcome of ACSF exit level 3 - working level 4, for both literacy and numeracy., Chisholm Online students are also required to meet the requirements of the Chisholm Online Service Standards - https://www.chisholm.edu.au/study-online/how-studying-online-works/online-service-standards, Please note: All students need to be able to obtain a clear volunteer Working with Children Check prior to undertaking work placement., Students who are unable to complete workplacement, will be unable to successfully complete the requirements of the course.
