Help students with special needs to shine at school, while embarking on a fulfilling and flexible career

Do you aspire to gain employment as a teacher’s aide, assist a student with special needs, or work as an educational support program worker? The nationally-recognised Certificate III in Education Support can help you to learn the basics of working in a support role within a variety of education settings, including public and private schools.

You’ll learn to support students with additional needs in the classroom environment, to assist in the implementation of planned educational programs, to support the behaviour of children and young people and to comply with legislative and policy requirements in education environments.

You’ll also undertake a mandatory practical placement in an approved education setting which will see you gain real-world skills and experience to prepare you for work.

Students are required to produce a valid Working with Children Check and a satisfactory police check prior to commencement of the course. You will also need to complete a first aid course and acquire a Statement of Attainment for the nationally-recognised HLTAID003 Provide First Aid unit of competency.

Practical Placement is a required component of this course and will be scheduled as soon as possible with an appropriate placement host. Given the current environment, however, this may take longer than normal and therefore, expected completion dates for the course may need to be extended to take account of deferred placement.

If you have any queries on the practical placement of this course, please contact our student information centre on 1300 275 265 or
