Chisholm will not be able to commence new students into the Bachelor of Accounting from 2021

Chisholm will not be able to commence new students into the Bachelor of Accounting in 2021.

Recently, La Trobe University and Chisholm have taken the difficult decision to cease taking new students into the Bachelor of Accounting. The COVID-19 pandemic has led Higher Education providers to evaluate all courses and delivery options and many universities, including La Trobe, are renegotiating their partnership arrangements to ensure ongoing viability. We leave this page so current students have access to information. If you complete the enquiry form, we will keep you informed should circumstances change.

Turn your diploma into a degree with Chisholm and chase your calling as a CPA with a Bachelor of Accounting (LBC001). With Chisholm, you can upgrade your Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Accounting, to a La Trobe degree in just two years full time (18 months for Advanced Diploma holders). Mid-year enrolments are now open.

You’ll be able to study locally, in the central business district of Dandenong, and fast track your degree by combining the first year of the program as TAFE study with two years of further study.

During this course, you'll gain knowledge and skills in areas such as cost accounting, corporate reporting, organisational behaviour, business planning, financial reporting, management accounting, accounting and the law, ethics, advanced financial accounting, strategic and international management, auditing, and taxation.

The Bachelor of Accounting is accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Depending on campus, students may be required to complete specific electives in order to graduate with the CPA Australia and CAANZ accredited qualification, please refer to the Handbook for further details. Membership may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.

The pathway to this degree might look like this:
Certificate IV in Accounting (6 months) -> Diploma of Accounting (6 months) -> Advanced Diploma of Accounting (6 months) -> the degree (18 months)

In the same time as a regular degree at uni, you can graduate with a Certificate IV, diploma, advanced diploma and degree.

Why choose the Chisholm and La Trobe partnership?
• No ATAR required.
• The degree is part of your CPA.
• Save time. It’s just 18 months to two years (rather than three) to gain a La Trobe University degree and better opportunities if you have a recent diploma. Three years if you don’t.
• All classes close to home at Chisholm @ 311 in central Dandenong.
• Full time is two or three days of classes a week. Work while you study.
• Small class sizes, individual attention, great results.
