Education Training and Assessment 

Training and Assessment skills are essential to workforce development and a prerequisite if you want to become a professional skills teacher. Chisholm offers courses in training and assessment that will enhance your career opportunities. Courses also include TESOL – Teaching English (see below). 

You can complete nationally accredited courses, short courses, workshops and customised training programs.   You can also receive an obligation-free service to discuss the particular training needs of your organisation.

Training and Assessment courses
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) is the prerequisite qualification if you wish to deliver and assess training in the VET sector. This qualification is also considered valuable if you want to deliver and assess training in the workplace.

You may prefer to undertake the Assessor Skills Set if your work function predominantly involves assessment only requirements (you will receive partial credit towards the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment).

If you hold the Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (BSZ40198), an upgrade to the TAA40104 is also available.

The Diploma of Training and Assessment can provide you with a more advanced qualification, particularly useful if you manage or coordinate training in an organisation.

The Diploma of Vocational Education and Training Practice can provide you with the skills to become an advanced VET practitioner.  This qualification comprises an approved course of teacher training which includes a supervised teaching practicum.

The Graduate Certificate in Vocational Education and Training (VET) provides the skills and knowledge you need as a VET practitioner to keep up to date and respond effectively to the changing nature of the VET environment. It will assist you to lead and implement change in your VET organisation.

The Vocational Graduate Certificate in Industry Engagement and Development is an intensive, flexibly delivered course where you learn how to build industry relationships, develop an industry engagement plan and provide targeted customer solutions for the education sector.

TESOL - Teaching English
The Certificate IV in TESOL provides you with the practical skills and knowledge in teaching English to speakers of other languages. This qualification can assist you to teach in English Language centres overseas. Graduates with existing teaching qualifications are eligible to apply for roles in English training programs within Australia.
