You will also learn the importance of store merchandise presentiation requirements for sales, promotions and special events providing feedback to management to improve store marketing and promotional activities.

Part of Cert In Retail Merchandise Displays. The aim of visual merchandising is to entice customers into the store and to attract customers to a particular product. A good display is invaluable and is vital to the success of a retail business. This course explains the different styles of displays and shows why it is so important to regularly monitor displays to ensure they meet the requirements of the merchandising plan as to cost, space and time effectiveness for the business.
Arts and Creative Writing
Introduction To 2D Animation (S002968)
This introductory level course will concentrate on teaching some of the principles and techniques of 2D Animation (Traditional animation), the same methods used by Disney, Ren & Stimpy, The Simpsons and others.
Students will learn about several principles of animation including Squash & Stretch, Exaggeration, Timing, Appeal and also techniques like Lip sync and Walk cycles.
Each session will include a series of animation exercises that will be created on the iMac computers using software like Adobe Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. The series of drawings will be created on the computer using a Wacom Tablet and stylus pen. Students will also learn how to add sound to their project based animations and convert them into looping Quick Time (QT) movies. An ability to draw characters is advantageous but not essential.
Introduction To Printmaking (S002969)
Learn the creative process of making fine art prints. Discover basic skills required in printmaking and develop your creative confidence. The course covers, mono, relief and intaglio processes. This course does not require experience in printmaking.
Trompe L'oeil (S002972)
Discover the painting technique of Trompe L’oeil, a method of mural painting that creates the illusion of a 3D setting such as a landscape, garden or room. Don’t worry-the technique is not as difficult as it looks. You’ll finish a scene of your own choice, accentuated by a Trompe L’oeil window effect. In this workshop you will learn composition, execution and perspective from an experienced Trompe L’oeil artist in a nurturing environment. Absolute beginners welcome.
