    VCAL is the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning. It's a hands–on option for students in Years 11 and 12 and is a great way to go if you wish to complete Year 11 or 12 and move straight into a career or further study. Like the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), VCAL is an accredited secondary certificate with Industry skills training completed over a full year of study.

    This course includes general areas such maths, communications, personal development and employment skills. Industry specific study will enable you to attain the skills of a first year apprentice; includes practical skills for styling, removal of chemicals and basin services.

    Entry requirements: YYou must be under 20 years age on 1 January in the year you commence the course and preferably have completed Year 10 for VCAL Intermediate and Year 11 for VCAL Senior. Prospective students will attend an evaluation and interview.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

    With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
