    While providing the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a broad range of event management and hospitality skills, this qualification also provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be a competent supervisor in any hospitality functional area.

    Graduates will possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and be able to use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of their team.

    Partipants use current industry event management software. Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (RSA), coffeemaking and waiting skills and a structured industry placement at a prestigious venue to gain exposure to real event experience are also key components of this course.

    Entry requirements: Year 12 (VCE) or equivalent, or completion of Certificate III in Events or Certificate III in Hospitality.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

    With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
