    Diploma of Arts Therapy

    Attain skills to develop and deliver therapeutic art programs across community services, health, aged care and the arts sector. Build on your counselling skills using the arts and creative enquiry as therapy. This course is a nationally recognised qualification in counselling using the arts to promote health and well-being. Training combines both theoretical study and practical experience in industry.

  • Notes

    Study in the first year introduces philosophy and skills incorporated in Arts Therapy and to the creative process on inquiry. Focus is on the exploration of lived experience, the application of counselling skills and the development of arts programs that promote creativity, self expression and reflection for health and wellbeing.

    The second year builds on the skills and knowledge gained in the first year. Focus is on deepening the application of counselling skills incorporating a person centred approach, developing a multi modal approach to arts programming, the completion of a practicum in a simulated work environment.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.
