    Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

    Learn to plan and deliver training and undertake assessment in the workplace and in a classroom. This is the qualification required to teach adults in the national Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

    This qualification is the minimum requirement for a trainer in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and addresses a range of competency areas that represent the key areas of work undertaken within organisations that provide training and assessment services, such as TAFE, ACE and private and enterprise training organisations.

    The qualification consists of 10 units which cover three learning fields: Learning Design, Delivery and Facilitation, and Assessment.

    The program can completed by:
    - Face to face (classroom) attendance
    - Blended Delivery
    - Recognition of Prior Learning (evidence required to show competency)

    Entry requirements: No formal requirements. However, to teach in the VET sector you are required to hold a vocational qualification accepted by the relevant industry sector in the area in which you wish to teach.

    Course participants must also have:
    - A high level of English Language and literacy skills for written and verbal communication
    - Good computer skills and access to the internet
    - The ability to dedicate sufficient time each week to complete assessments

  • Career Path

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

    With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
