    This course provides practical skill development to enable people to make effective decisions and manage small businesses. The units cover all relevant areas for small business management. Participants may undertake the entire course or select areas of particular interest or where skill development is required.

    The course also suits those wishing to start a small business, those in a position of assessing the viability of a prospective business opportunity and owner/operators of existing businesses. Specific areas of study include Finance; Financial planning; Recording and reporting; Business plans; Marketing plans; Teamwork; Legal requirements; Networking; Research business opportunities; and, Workplace safety.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

    With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
