For more information check the FAQs and the 'Fees and charges' page on this website. Or you can call 1300 CHISHOLM (1300 244 746) or email us your enquiry

  • Notes

Both courses are suited to those who are involved in the basic functions of bookkeeping within an organisation or as a bookkeeping contractor.

The Certificate IV in Bookkeeping has a higher MYOB component, whereas the Certificate IV in Accounting is more general accounting and also incorporates tax and business law.

A skills gap process can also be used to shorten the study period whereby learners can be assessed for competencies based on prior learning and/or relevant work experience.

A main feature of Chisholm’s course is that it has been specially developed in conjunction with the Australian Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

It is unlike any other accounting course offered and it is highly practical. You will have a high level of skills, which means that you have confidence in being able to do the job as soon as you step into employment, or continue to expand your skill base if you are already employed by having recognition as a BAS agent.

Entry requirements: Year 12 (VCE) or equivalent, or mature age entry also considered, or relevant industry experience.

    Applying and Enrolling

To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
