    Hospitality, event organisation and management take place across the full spectrum of business and community activity.

    Individuals with this qualification, delivered through a combination of work placement and classroom learning, are able to work in a range of organisations where event management takes place, and such organisations are diverse in nature.

    Examples include professional conference organisers, exhibition and event management companies, sporting associations, community organisations, hospitality and cultural venues. Work could also be undertaken in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. Individuals may have some responsibility for others and provide technical advice and support to a team.

    Entry requirements: Completed Year 10 or equivalent with good reading, writing and communication skills.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

    With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
