    Training combines both theoretical study and practical experience in the industry.

    This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined
    organisation guidelines and service plans.

    These workers:
    - Carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in an aged care setting
    - Carry out activities related to an individualised plan
    - Report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.

    Entry requirements: No formal academic requirements, however basic written and oral communication skills are required.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

    With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
