This fully accredited pre-apprenticeship course is specifically designed to achieve those goals. And if you gain an apprenticeship in the plumbing trade after successfully completing this course, the schooling component of your apprenticeship training will be reduced.

  • Notes

    A plumber is a Registered/Licensed tradesperson who fabricates, installs, tests and maintains pipes and gas lines; sanitary fixtures and fittings; roofing and regulators; sanitary & drainage and mechanical services.

    Plumbers may be required to install equipment such as boilers, pumps, heating and cooling systems, natural gas ovens, water tanks and solar heating systems.

    The training is predominately project-based, focuses on practical skills and provides an extensive introduction to careers within the Plumbing industry.

    Entry requirements: Desirable skills - equivalent to Year 10 of schooling. For Berwick TEC specific requirements check the TEC website.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.

    With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases,  you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
