    This course provides a wide-ranging introduction to working in community services. Students study a range of introductory subjects including Features of the community services sector, Communication skills, Organisational policies, procedures and programs, Working with others, Cultural diversity and Basic administrative duties. Additionally, there are a number of specialist subjects including Orientation to disability and mental health work, Safe food handling practices and First aid.

    Entry requirements: Basic written and verbal communication skills.

    Applying and Enrolling

    To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.
