As part of their industry experience, our highly skilled students provide clients with a range of hair, nail or other beauty treatments under the expert guidance of our trainers. This gives students real world work experience boosting confidence and reinforcing skills, as well as the opportunity to hone customer service.
Students also have access to top quality computers, high speed internet wireless networks, student intranet and access to international and national industry training resources.
Students gain valuable experience in Chisholm Hair and Beauty’ s fully operational hairdressing and beauty salons, open to students, staff and the broader community at Chisholm Dandenong, Berwick, Frankston and Rosebud.

Chisholm Hair and Beauty offer short courses, nationally accredited apprenticeship, certificate and diploma courses, with multiple study options including full time, part time, day, evening and flexible off-campus components. At Chisholm there are so many ways to enter the hairdressing industry.
There are endless employment opportunities such as a stylist for salons, film, stage, television, magazines or working on a luxury cruise ship. Your career can advance to setting up your own business, managing a salon, or teaching within the hairdressing industry. Graduates of the Chisholm Hairdressing Department are highly sought after. What will it cost me if I qualify for a government subsidised place?
In 2012 the government will pay majority of the cost of your training, if you are eligible.
Concessions are currently under review subject to the offical announcement from the Victorian Government and the impact of the State Budget on ongoing funding for the VET sector.

You will still pay some fees depending on the course category and now that we can offer elegible students VET FEE HELP loans or Staged Payment Plans, learning is even more affordable.

To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.
With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases, you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
