10 year partnership with ADF celebrated

Chisholm and the Australian Defence Force (ADF) School of Catering have celebrated a ‘bright star’ 10 year anniversary partnership.  On a perfect Autumn afternoon, students from the ADF demonstrated their skills by ‘cooking up a storm’ with a magnificent buffet luncheon for around 80 guests in a marquee set up for the occasion at Chisholm Frankston.

Distinguished guests included senior Chisholm and ADF personnel, federal and local government officials and industry suppliers to the program.

The training taking place at Chisholm for ADF stewards and cooks is unique. The partnership is the only training conducted externally by the Navy.

The significance of the ADF and Chisholm partnership was acknowledged in speeches by Chisholm Acting CEO Maria Peters, Chisholm Director for the Centre for Services and Arts Industries Leanne Jenkins, and Officer Commanding, ADF School of Catering, Squadron Leader, Kevin Murray.

“What a milestone 10 years is for both Chisholm Institute and the Australian Defence Force School of Catering. I can tell you that Chisholm and this Centre recognise this partnership as one of its brightest stars”, said Leanne Jenkins in her opening remarks.

A distinct alignment between organisations and strong team ethos are core success ingredients Squadron Leader Kevin Murray told the audience. “We are privileged to work with the terrific team at Chisholm Institute. The ADF School of Catering and Chisholm share harmony and goodwill based on professionalism and pride in who they are and what they do. We very much look forward to working in a similar vein in the coming years”.

The training program Chisholm provides to the ADF is regarded as a model of best practice around the world.
