In 2011 Chisholm will become the leading automotive and logistics training provider in Victoria with the launch of the Automotive & Logistics Centre in Dandenong. This $15m training complex will feature the latest technology and a range of state-of-the-art features including a full diagnostics lab, a natural gas fired infra red paint curing system, body repair workshops and more.
Chisholm has the full range of Automotive training facilities to enable students to develop their skills in areas including diagnostics, spray painting, panel beating and more.

Not only will the new automotive training facility at Dandenong incorporate the latest technologies, it’s also being designed with sustainability principles integrated into the facilities and training programs.
Chisholm offers fully accredited courses and has specialist facilities for training in Mechanical light vehicle, Mechanical heavy vehicle, Marine, Vehicle body - panel beating, Vehicle painting. All automotive programs are developed in close consultation with industry advisory groups. Moreover, at Chisholm you learn from supportive, understanding teachers who have vast industry experience, both as tradespeople and in many cases as business owners.
Course hours per week maybe less than full time but take longer to complete.

How do I know if I'm eligible for a government subsidised place?
Firstly, you must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident and live in Victoria.
Students enrolling in a govt-subsidised course up to Cert IV who hold a current Commonwealth Healthcare Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans' Gold Card (or who are the dependent spouse of a cardholder) are eligible for concessions.Students who were under 25 at Jan 1 2012, and are continuing in the diploma or advanced diploma they enrolled in prior to July 1, 2012, will also be eligible for a concessions if they hold a current Commonwealth Healthcare Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans' Gold Card (or are the dependent a cardholder). Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders will be eligible for concessions for any level course. Full details about concessions

To be eligible for Victorian and Commonwealth Government-subsidised training, you must be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen or holder of a Permanent Visa, and meet a number of criteria which are outlined here.

To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.
With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases, you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
