Step 1 - Apply for a Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) To obtain a successful PSA an applicant must have recently completed an Australian Qualification Framework trade qualification in Australia with a Registered Training Organisation. They must also have an International English Language Training System (IELTS) score of 6 or greater in each of the reading, writing, listening and speaking sub-tests of the one General Training test and have work experience performed in Australia that demonstrates a range of tasks and duties in an occupation related to their qualification for at least two days per week over six months (or equivalent). A successful outcome will enable the applicant to apply to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship for a Skilled-Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass 485). Step 2 - Complete the Job Ready Employment On a 485 visa, the JRP participant will have 18 months to complete the required 12 month full time paid employment in their trade to gain more skills and experience in an Australian workplace. Participants are also required to undertake professional development in Australian Workplace Language and Culture. Chisholm Institute is a TRA approved RTO to deliver the professional development to Job Ready participants. Step 3 - Complete a Job Ready Workplace Assessment JRP participants will have an opportunity to demonstrate their trade skills in the workplace to an independent TRA approved Workplace Assessor. Note: TRA will select and appoint a Workplace Assessor to the JRP participant. Step 4 - Apply for a Job Ready Final Assessment To apply of a Job Ready Final Assessment, participants will need to collect all of the evidence required during Steps 1, 2 and 3, including completion of 12 months paid full-time employment (or equivalent) in their occupation. A successful Job Ready Final Assessment can be used as the skills assessment required by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to apply for permanent residency under the General Skilled Migration program. |
