VET in Schools
If you are a secondary school student, Vocational Education and Training in Schools lets you incorporate vocational training while at school. Studying a vocational certificate can enhance your VCE both for enjoyment and a better VCE enter score. VCE is traditionally completed by people who are aiming to continue on to university and also opens the way to further TAFE study.
VCAL is a new alternative with a vocational focus that offers pathways into TAFE, apprenticeships and employment. Starting vocational training while studying your senior secondary certificate allows you to get a head start on industry skills that will assist you to find an apprenticeship, other employment and continue to further study. TAFE Tasters and Tours
Chisholm can arrange tours of any campus for secondary college groups. These can be simple walk throughs – or more formal sessions including course information, tours of individual departments and talks by department staff. Chisholm “Tasters” are a way for secondary college students to sample the TAFE experience. Tasters are usually half or full day classes where students participate hands-on in one or more industry area. Chisholm can tailor a Taster to your individual school requirements.
