Options that could help you reach your goal

Your current skills, knowledge and experience can help you get a qualification. Chisholm has an assessment process which evaluates your existing skills, knowledge and experience against recognised qualifications. You could be granted a full or part qualification, saving you valuable time and money. “Skills Recognition” or “Recognition of Prior Learning” takes into account the experience and skills you’ve already learned from life. Other study, or at work; and Credit Transfer is available for Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by Registered Training Organisations. Ask about skills recognition including credit transfer when you enrol.

    Chisholm's Pathway Guarantee

Chisholm’s Pathway Guarantee means you are guaranteed a pathway into any additional Chisholm qualification OR from any Chisholm qualification to other tertiary institutes or partner universities where an articulation arrangement or guarantee is in place.

Training places with government funding support

In response to changing economic conditions, the Federal and State governments continue to develop schemes for providing funding support for training and further education. As this course guide goes to print, there is funding support for people aged from 15 to 20, for retrenched workers and registered job seekers, for people of any age studying for Foundation Level literacy and numeracy, as well as people of any age undertaking a higher VET qualification than the highest qualification already held. See the Apply Now section and FAQs for detailed information on the latest schemes, including conditions and eligibility criteria.

    Financial Assistance

If you hold a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Veterans Gold Card – or are the dependent of a spouse or parents who hold one, you are eligible for a concession (for all courses except diplomas and above). This means the maximum contribution you will have to pay for any course commencing 2012, including traineeships, is $187.50. If the course is for an apprenticeship, you can get a concession, and the maximum contribution is $923. Indigenous students can access concessions at all course levels.

These fees may vary, so please check when enrolling.

    VET FEE HELP

VET FEE-HELP is an income contingent loan scheme that assists eligible ongoing and new students to pay for all or part of their VET tuition fees when studying a diploma, advanced diploma or graduate certificate at Chisholm. Students wishing to access VET FEE-HELP assistance are invited to discuss their eligibility with Chisholm.

For students who need to build up their literacy and numeracy skills to undertake a vocational course it is possible to enrol in a TAFE skills course at the same time as a foundation skills learning course.

Ask your enrolling officer for more details.
