Expo proves skills training matters as Victoria’s population booms 

Chisholm Institute’s success at the weekend’s Reinvent Your Career Expo has reinforced the important role skills training is to play as Victoria faces a population boom.

The one and a half per cent growth, to 5.2 million Victorian residents this year, is largely a result of the state’s baby boom and immigration Premier John Brumby said today. Workers now looking for more diverse employability skills as the state’s labour markets continue to shift and grow.

Chisholm, one of Victoria’s largest skills training providers with six campuses across the south east of Melbourne, has responded to these up skilling demands and changing workplace trends, as major sponsor and event partner to the Reinvent Your Career Expo.

Across the weekend Chisholm’s friendly and experienced skilled trainers provided skills coaching and skills advice to over 5,000 Melbournians aged 20 – 60 years of age who attended the Melbourne Exhibition Convention Centre.

With visitors primarily looking for a new job, to return to the workforce, or to totally reinvent their careers, Chisholm’s short courses or part time courses which are tailored to individual needs provided them with exciting new career pathways. And with Chisholm renowned for its vast industry experience and strong network of industry employers, visitors had found themselves a one-stop-shop for skills training.
